Description:

Based in Nunavik, Quebec, the Regional Financial and Administrative Advisor (RFAA) is a key role in providing technical assistance to the Northern Villages of Nunavik. Reporting to the Assistant Director, the RFAA acts as a resource in the fields of municipal management and financing. As an active member of the Legal, Socio-Judicial and Municipal Team, the RFAA works in partnership with the Secretary-Treasurers of each Northern villages. In addition, the RFAA will act as a support between the Northern Villages and different levels of governments and organizations dealing with group insurance, pension plan, etc. This individual will have the passion and capability to foster an environment that reflects the organization's vision and values

Who Can Apply:

Applicants should possess a College Diploma or University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or in another related field; High School Diploma and relevant work experience will also be considered.

Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in a municipal environment would be an asset as well as experience in a cross-cultural environment with native communities.

The successful candidate will have good verbal and written communications skills in at least two (2) of the following languages: Inuttitut, English and French. He/She must be knowledgeable in various accounting and business software programs. He/She must be willing to travel within Nunavik, be reliable, and able to work independently and under pressure. He/She must possess good interpersonal skills and be able to maintain a high degree of discretion.

In accordance with this posting and with the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement, conditions may vary to promote the employment of Inuit candidates.

 

Salary Range:

Minimum $45 476 and maximum of $77 849 plus applicable benefits.

 

Location:

Nunavik, Quebec

 

Duration:

Permanent position.
