Until December 31, 2015 under the Food and Other Essentials Program, Nunavimmiut will be able to buy whole turkeys and hams (2.5 kg and over) sold at local grocery stores for half the regular price.

Quebec City, November 9, 2015 – The Minister responsible for Native Affairs, Geoffrey Kelley, would like to acknowledge the outstanding volunteer work of the recipient of the Prix Hommage Aînés 2015, Louisa Cookie-Brown. Ms. Cookie-Brown was presented the award on November 4 by the Minister of Families, Minister responsible for Seniors, Minister responsible for Anti-Bullying and Minister responsible for the Laval Region, Francine Charbonneau, at an awards ceremony conducted at the Parliament Building in Quebec City.

Quebec City, November 9, 2015 – The French Consulate General in Quebec City is pleased to present this invitation to a gathering on Friday, November 13 at 11 a.m. at the Musée des Beaux-arts de Montréal with Professor Patrice Alexandre, Cécilia Breuil and Anaïs Ang, three French artists returning from Aupaluk in Nunavik where they were in residence from October 23 to November 11, 2015.
Update, July‒September 2015: NUNIVAAT – NUNAVIK STATISTICS PROGRAM
Nunivaat was initiated by the Kativik Regional Government (KRG) in 2005 to
establish a permanent, public and independent statistics program on the
socioeconomic situation of Nunavik. Nunivaat is directed by Université Laval.
RESEARCH AND RELATED ACTIVITIES
Study on the Cost of Living in Nunavik – Data collection work under the study is now running at full speed. To date, 76% of the targeted 450 households have been surveyed in Kangiqsualujjuaq, Kuujjuaq, Tasiujaq, Salluit, Puvirnituq and Umiujaq. Each randomly selected participating household is asked to collect receipts for two weeks and to complete a diary of daily expenses; in return, the houseolds are paid $100.
