Today, while we mourn the passing of Aisara, we are also very thankful for his legacy. Aisara with his knowledge and wisdom guided us to navigate through today’s challenges. Kuujjuaq, Québec, April 14, 2015 – The Civil Security Section of the Kativik Regional Government (KRG), the Kativik Regional Police Force and its Cadet Program, and the Nunavik Hunting, Fishing and Trapping Association (NHFTA) jointly announce the launch of the Out on the Land seasonal prevention campaign. In April and May, listen to your local and regional FM radio stations for audio clips, interviews and testimonials regarding safety when travelling on the land and protocols to be followed in case of emergency.>
Press Release: Improved Measures to Reduce the Cost of Living
Kuujjuaq, Québec, April 1, 2015 – The Kativik Regional Government (KRG) and the Makivik Corporation announce improvements to four regional cost-of-living programs to better target support for the region’s most disadvantaged and to foster healthy lifestyles which take into consideration Inuit traditional activities and culture.
Among the important improvements are a new 30% subsidy for clothing and footwear purchased from participating local stores under the Food and Other Essentials Program, as well as a new transportation subsidy for major harvesting equipment requiring repairs.
