Press Release: New Website for the Kativik Regional Police Force

Kuujjuaq, Québec, June 8, 2017 – The Kativik Regional Police Force (KRPF) launches today its new website, www.krpf.ca, in Inuktitut, English and French. The new platform promotes security measures and tips, and contains other news and information related to public security in Nunavik.

For the KRPF, the new website represents an effective way to enhance communications with residents and to strengthen collaboration with regional partners and the communities. It offers Nunavimmiut information on the day-to-day functioning and operations of the regional police force, all in one place.

“We are excited to launch our new website,” said Michel Martin, Chief of the KRPF and Director of the Public Security Department of the Kativik Regional Government (KRG). “It has been designed to offer a user-friendly experience and we believe that visitors will find the information helpful. It is a great opportunity to increase the transparency of our activities and operations.”

The new website will include contact information for various community services, such as KRPF detachments, municipal fire departments, CLSCs, as well as social services and youth protection. The KRPF also plans to post the latest information on different events, awareness campaigns and programs of the KRG Public Security Department on topics such as fire prevention, gun safety, and search and rescue operations.

Another goal of the new website is to promote job opportunities for police constables. Visitors will be able to discover the many advantages of joining the KRPF and complete applications in a few easy steps. Other available website tools include reporting a crime, making a complaint against a police officer, and resources for crime victims.
